About Me
My name is Kimberley Smith, currently a Second Trimester student at SAE Qantm, studying a Bachelor of Game Design in Perth. I am 27 and have completed the first half of a Computer Science Degree (the interesting half) and a full Digital Design Degree at Curtin University.
I have always enjoyed working with games, from messing around with mods and working on world creation for conceptual books and tabletop games. After completing my first degree I found work as a video editor, making and editing videos for social media releases and tv advertising, but it wasn’t something that ever felt right. So I decided to complete another degree and follow the path I have always wanted to travel and being able to use my computer science skills is another plus.
I have experience in creating 3D models for my previous degree, feel free to have a look at the three portfolio areas, one for my 3D modeling, one for my new Game Design, and a section on Level Design, putting those two sections together.
I have experience in using many different types of technology, I know 3 main programming languages, with some knowledge of others including C++, C# and Java, I can develop websites using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. I have used most of the adobe suite frequently, including Video editing at a professional Level in Premier Pro and After Effects, image editing and creation in Photoshop and Illustrator, some audio editing in Audition and creating documents in InDesign. I am working on building my expertise in Unity and will soon start working with Unreal Engine and the language and pipeline involved in that. My 3D modeling skills include creating models and animating in Maya and Blender, sculpting in Mudbox and texturing in Substance Painter.
